Kenya’s Deputy Prez engages Atta on his UK visit

The leadership of the African Travel and Tourism Association (ATTA) headquartered in the UK facilitated a breakfast meeting in honour of Kenya’s Deputy President, Dr William Ruto on Friday 8th February at Marriott Grosvenor House London.

The round table gathering included, a delegation from the High Commission headed by the new Kenyan High Commissioner Manoah Esipisu, several Kenyan MP’s, Atta’s sponsors; Kenya Airways and members of the tourist industry.

The team from Atta were; President Nigel Vere Nicoll, International Source Markets Director James Haigh, CEO Chris Mears, Marketing & Communications Executive Sally Fernandes.

Deputy President William Ruto invited Nigel Vere Nicoll to make the welcoming address on behalf of the guests.

Among items covered were the importance of tourism to Kenya’s economy, security and crisis management, sustainability, in particular relating to the Maasai Mara, as well as connectivity, regional integration and cross border tourism, business travel and a new convention centre for the MICE market.
