UNWTO SG sets for first visit to East Africa

The Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), A United Nations Specialised Agency in the field of Tourism, Ambasssdor Zurab Pololikashvili is set to arrive in Kenya on October 2 for his maiden visit to Kenya and the East AFRICA region since assuming office in January 2018.

Mr. Pololikashvili’s visit will be the third in sub Saharan Africa following his earlier visit to Nigeria during the Commission For Africa (CAF) Meeting in June and his last visit to Cote D’Ivoire.

The Secretary General while in Kenya will be attending the African Union Tourism Ministers meeting and also have speaking session at Africa Hotel Investment Forum 2018.

He will be gracing the opening of the 8th Magical Kenya travel expo which is set to be opened by the President of Kenya, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta.

He is also expected to grace the opening of the 8th Magical Kenya Travel Expo which will be hosted from 3-5 October.

The Director of the UNWTO Africa Department Elcia Grandcourt will be accompanying the Secretary General on his third visit to sub Saharan Africa.

The visit of the Mr Pololikashvili and his team demonstrates the commitment of his administration to the Africa region.

The Delegation while in Kenya will pay courtesy call on some high ranking personalities in the country and also appraise themselves with the tourism offering of Kenya
