The African Travel Association (ATA) will host its 42nd annual World Tourism Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, from April 29 to May 3, 2019.

The conference is designed to be a unique networking, learning and agenda-shaping platform for Africa tourism stakeholders, with next year’s event – themed ‘This is Africa’ – highlighting emerging business and investment opportunities across Africa’s tourism sector.

Participants will explore the power of tourism to drive economic growth and job creation through “disruptive business models and strategies, leveraging creative industries and culture, emerging technologies, capacity building, and building strategic partnerships”.

ATA is partnership with the African Union Commission; a number of travel industry partners including the Regional Tourism Organisation of Southern Africa; and the United States Tour Operators Association; strategic partners such as Euromonitor International; and responsible tourism partners including The Global Travel & Tourism Partnership
