Iceland First Lady honoured at PATWA 2019 ITB Conference in Berlin – meets Seychelles former Tourism Minister

celand’s First Morin, Mrs Eliza Jean Reid has been honoured by ISAW (Institute of South Asian Woman) at the PATWA 2019 Conference during the ITB Tourism Trade Fair in Berlin.

The First Lady of Iceland won the ISAW Women of Excellent for Promoting Sustainable Development Award.

The Award Ceremony followed a series of speeches on ‘Global Tourism – Trends and Challenges’ where Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles former Minister for Tourism. Civil Aviation. Ports and Marine had addressed delegates meeting on the sideline of ITB, the world biggest Tourism Trade Fair in Berlin.

After the award ceremony, Alain St.Ange the former Seychelles Minister said he was impressed to see the First Lady of Iceland pull this award for promoting Sustainable Development.

“World Tourism is more dependent than even on leaders appreciating sustainable development. Today I salute the First Lady of Iceland for being a role model for a more sustainable approach to development” said Alain St.Ange
