FRA! Band and Kyekyeku & Ghanalogue Highlife edged eight other groups at the recently ended Vis-a-Vis Ghana-Espana music concert held in Accra, Ghana.
The two bands were adjudged by the members of the jury of The Spain-Ghana Vis a Vis cultural project and will represent Ghana in Spain and perform in a dozen music festivals all around the Spanish territory in July 2019.
The jury stated the “amazing talent and high quality” of all the ten bands that performed during the two nights and highlighted that not only this two bands, but some more, could have been the winners. The decision, they say “has been extremely difficult to take” and consider that both FRA! Band and Kyekyeku & Ghanalogue Highlife will represent Ghana and its incredible talent in the Spanish Festivals, a great way to show how this country is having a diverse and talented music scene.
The Vis a Vis cultural cooperation project has been organized by Spain’s public diplomacy institution, Casa África, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of the Ghanaian government, and the collaboration of MUSIGA, the Spanish Embassy in Ghana and the Ghanaian Embassy in Madrid.
