Qatar inks deal with UNWTO to sponsor Maiden Global Tourism Sports competition

The Qatar National Tourism Council and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has signed an agreement which will see the oil rich country sponsor the Maiden sports competition.

The agreement which was signed in the the capital Doha will see Qatar become the major sponsor for the maiden UNWTO sports tourism start up competition while Football Club Barcelona will be the main partnering institution to roll out the project.

The QNTC confirmed this on their official twitter handle ”QNTC signed an agreement to become a sponsor of the first UNWTO Sports Tourism start-up Competition, which will be carried out in collaboration with Futbol Club Barcelona”

The Secretary General of UNWTO Ambassador Zurab Pololikashvili signed on behalf of the UN Tourism Agency while Al-Baker Secretary-General of QNTC did on behalf of the Tourism Council.

Both leaders announced a string of collaborations that are set to support the tourism industry in Qatar and the world.
