The South African government is set to deliver Black Rhinos to Malawi following a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries. The deal will see South Africa supply the animals to restock Black Rhinos and promote tourism in Malawi.
The deal was sealed this morning when Malawi’s Minister of Natural Resources Energy and Mining Bintony Kutsaira and the South African High Commissioner to Malawi, Ahlangene Sigcau finalised the paperwork for the MOU in Lilongwe.
Kutsaira said the Rhinos will be put at Liwonde National Park where the British troops are doing their training for security to add on top of the increased number of trained rangers.
Sigcau said his government is encouraged to hear that the Rhinos are going to be well secured.
