UNWTO and IE Business School hold Masterclass for Tourism Startups in Ghana

The United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) organised a Masterclass on tourism innovation for African start ups, as part of activities marking the first regional congress on women empowerment in Ghana.

The training session, which is part of the UNWTO’s women’s empowerment initiative in Africa was held at the Kofi Annan ICT Centre in Accra.

The training session which was introduced in collaboration with Wakula and IE Business School is to provide a platform for African startups to showcase their vision for a more inclusive, sustainable and competitive tourism sector.

At the session, some participants were given the opportunity to do power point presentations on their business ideas regarding the tourism industry.

The congress hosted over a dozen world-renowned global industry experts, speakers, business leaders, ministers and policy makers from over twenty (20)countries.

It sought to analyze the current challenges and opportunities for women’s empowerment in the tourism sector, as well as exchange and share national experiences on women’s empowerment, among others.
