Madagascar’s strong tourism potential and geographical positioning are among the assets that allowed it to be selected as the host of AviaDev Africa for the 2022 edition. This aeronautical event allows participants to create new air routes from or to a country, but also to develop new collaborations with other airports or to attract new airlines.
“Despite the very best efforts of the Ravinala Airports team, manager of Antananarivo and Nosy Be airports and host of the event, the combination of continued uncertainty of the total reopening of the Malagasy borders, restrictions on flight frequencies alongside heavy health protocols required by Madagascar have impacted us to be able to deliver an event that would meet the high standards expected of AviaDev events,โ said Jon Howell, CEO, and Founder of AviaDev.
However, AviaDev is delighted to announce that AviaDev will now take place 29 June-1 July in Cape Town, South Africa, hosted by WESGRO and the Cape Town Air Access team.
We are pleased to welcome the Malagasy delegation, and in particular, Ravinala Airports team, to the event, that will take place in Cape Town, to promote their country and airports.
AviaDev Africa was held in Cape Town in 2018 and 2019 and was a resounding success. The Cape Town Air Access model is a blueprint for how route development should be done and we are delighted to be able to bring the event back to the Mother City. The AviaDev community has shared their desire to meet in person and with Cape Townโs domestic, regional and international connectivity, we can be back together once again to Connect, Collaborate and Change the African aviation landscape.
