The return of the world’s leading travel show, ITB is a few hours from opening its doors to the world again. VoyagesAfriq, the continent’s leading travel, and tourism will be offering unparalleled coverage of Africa’s diverse and enchanting tourism offering to the world.

Even with its scaled-down activity line-up, one is still sure of some of the most important discussions to be had at Germany’s marquee Messe Berlin venue. This year’s ITB kicked off with an ITB media Monday where the press had the opportunity to engage and speak to tourism’s movers and shakers of the industry.

Starting off with the over thirty-five African countries exhibiting to the networking opportunities that the show will provide, the Africa Hall will also be the center of activity with pressing discussions on the growth and development of the continent’s tourism.

ITB Berlin’s mega comeback has seen most African destinations, including national tourism boards, private sector players and the ecosystem in Africa making a strong appearance.

Confirmed African countries include; Angola, Benin, Ghana, Seychelles, Mauritius, South Africa, Namibia, Cote d’Ivoire, Tunisia, Botswana, Lesotho, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Cabo Verde, the Gambia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Togo, Swaziland, Sudan, Somalia, sierra leone, Seychelles, Rwanda, Sao tome & Principe, Saint Helena, Reunion, Niger, Madagascar, Mozambique, Mauritania, Mali, Malawi, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Gabon, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Comoros, Congo, Cameroon, and Burundi.

South African Tourism will be joining forces with VoyagesAfriq to shed light on the attractiveness of the continent by leading global hospitality brands in a round table discussion at the Gemma hall on Wednesday 8th March 2023 at 11:30 am. Panelists will constitute hotel investors, international brands, and DMOs on how Africa can harness this to further accelerate its recovery.

Against the backdrop of leading brands such as Marriott, Radisson Blu, and Hyatt are heading the race for a bigger slice of Africa’s hospitality pie as they ramp up their presence, mainly through acquisitions and property management deals, and push their select-service brands across the continent, it will be a fine opportunity to analyze its overall impact on the region’s development.

The Zambia Travel Agency will hold a networking event during ITB Berlin on 8th March at 5:00 pm on the Zambia Stand, Hall 21, Stand Number 118.

The cocktail is intended for international tour operators interested in expanding their destinations portfolio and learning about the uniqueness and diversity of the Zambian travel offerings and for the media representatives seeking out inspiration, stories, and possibilities for collaboration.

Onshow Solutions, a household name in the MICE and Tourism sectors will be hosting networking sessions every day at their stand from 5:00 pm.

The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority will be engaging with its trade partners on the evening of Thursday 9th March 2023 while Botswana will be seeking to offer a taste of the country to the world at their daily evening networking function at its stand.

VoyagesAfriq will be bringing you updates as it happens from Messe Berlin.
