Botswana Tourism promises a diversified 2023 Magkadigadi Epic

Members of the Public are informed that the Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) in partnership with the Parachute Association of Botswana (PAB), hosted by BOTASH in collaboration with the Sowa Township Council & Tutume District Council will host the annual Makgadikgadi Epic 2023 in the world-renowned Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.

This event which is geared towards promoting adventure tourism and destination marketing and promotion will offer the adventure traveller three (3) days of Epic Skydiving above the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. The event is scheduled for the 14th – 16th July 2023 in Sua Pan, approximately 20 (Twenty) kilometers from Sowa Town.

The 2023 edition themed: ‘Safari-Chic’; held in the mesmerizing landscapes of Makgadikgadi Pans, is set to captivate the nature enthusiasts and attendees. This thrilling event promises to showcase the raw beauty and unique biodiversity of the destination.

The event will feature the usual annual activities being tandem skydiving with professionals, fun Quad rides, fun horse rides and a contemporary music festival.

Events tourism is one of the initiatives undertaken by the Government to stimulate both local and international travel, encourage local participation and develop new tourism products for diversifying the product offering away from wildlife-based products, particularly in the Northern part of the country.

The public will pay P100.00 to have access to the event which will be hosted at ‘LAPA Recreational Area’ (Sowa Town Park) for the duration of the event.
