Botswana’s Minister of Environment and Tourism, Dumezweni Mthimkhulu, has tragically passed away. Sources confirmed late last night that Mthimkhulu, who had been battling a prolonged illness, succumbed to his condition. He had assumed the ministerial role in February, succeeding Philda Kereng.

Mthimkhulu, an attorney by profession, previously served as Assistant Minister for the State President from 2019 until his appointment as Minister of Environment and Tourism earlier this year. His passing marks a significant loss for Botswana’s government and its ongoing environmental and tourism initiatives.
