Tourism Seychelles, through its office in the Middle East, in collaboration with TBO Academy, successfully hosted a webinar on 7th October 2024, aimed at engaging travel agents from the GCC region. The event attracted an impressive attendance of 134 agents, showcasing a strong interest in promoting Seychelles as a premier travel destination.

The webinar was facilitated by Kashish Jain, Senior Manager – Growth & Marketing at TBO, who played a key role in organising the event and ensuring its success. It was conducted in partnership with Shahanas Pakrudeen, Senior Sales Manager – GCC, from Constance Hotels, Resorts & Golf, who presented the group’s key properties in Seychelles, including Constance Lemuria and Constance Ephelia. Debra Volcy from Hilton Seychelles highlighted a variety of individually unique properties, such as Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa, Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa, DoubleTree By Hilton Seychelles – Allamanda Resort & Spa, Mango House Seychelles, LXR Hotels & Resorts, Canopy by Hilton Seychelles, and the Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island.

The Tourism Seychelles team, represented by Lanie Mertens and Ahmed Fathallah from the Middle East office, emphasised the importance of the GCC market for Seychelles tourism and expressed optimism for continued collaboration in the future.

Commenting on the success of the webinar, Ahmed Fathallah stated: “The GCC region remains a vital market for Seychelles, and the strong turnout at this webinar shows the growing interest in our destination. Through such collaborations, we are not only able to showcase the natural beauty and unique experiences of Seychelles but also strengthen ties with our travel partners. We are confident that these efforts will lead to increased visitation from the region and greater visibility for our hotel partners.”

In addition to promoting Seychelles as a destination, the webinar also served to highlight TBO as a key platform for agents to easily book travel packages to Seychelles. By encouraging agents to use the TBO booking platform, the collaboration aims to simplify the booking process and further facilitate tourism growth in the region.

The interactive session concluded with a quiz, where agents demonstrated their attentiveness by answering questions related to the presentations. The event also included a Q&A segment, providing an opportunity for participants to engage directly with the presenters and have their questions answered.

The collaboration was hailed as a success, reflecting the mutual goal of increasing visitor arrivals from the GCC region to Seychelles and promoting the featured hotel properties. Tourism Seychelles and TBO remain committed to strengthening their partnership and further enhancing the visibility of Seychelles as a sought-after destination.
