SA Chef Media is excited to announce the upcoming SA Chef Conference & Expo 2025, taking place in Johannesburg on 11-12 August 2025.

The second edition of this premier B2B event will unite culinary and tourism professionals from across South Africa and the continent at NH Johannesburg Sandton to explore “The Business of Restaurants”.

Under the theme “Cultivating Africa’s Gastronomy Industry”, key discussions will focus on identifying solutions to industry challenges, building and growing sustainable culinary businesses and careers, fostering creativity and innovation in professional kitchens, and enhancing our share of the global gastronomy tourism market.

Attendees can look forward to two days packed with invaluable insights, networking opportunities, and tailored learning experiences specifically designed for restaurant owners, executive chefs, culinary and tourism SMMEs, students, food service suppliers, and stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality sectors.

The conference will feature an impressive line-up of speakers, including some of South Africa’s most renowned executive chefs and restaurateurs, such as Ryan Cole, Wandile Mabaso, Johannes Richter, Candice Philip, Vusi Ndlovu, Moses Moloi, Katlego Mlambo, Nti Ramaboa, and Coco Reinarhz.

Additionally, industry leaders like Grace Harding, Gregory Henderson, and James Khoza, along with key figures from tourism and hospitality – such as SA Tourism CEO Nombulelo Guliwe, SATSA CEO David Frost, SAACI CEO Glenton de Kock, and representatives from our strategic partner FEDHASA – will contribute to the discussions.

SA Chef Conference & Expo headline sponsor, Unilever Food Solutions, will feature both on stage and at the expo, alongside top suppliers and food service providers showcasing a diverse range of industry offerings.

Lance Gibbons, CEO of SA Chef Media, stated, “After the success and valuable insights gained from the first edition of the SA Chef Conference & Expo in Cape Town last year, we are thrilled to bring this event to Johannesburg, the premier commercial hub of the African continent.

“This gathering provides a crucial platform for business owners and culinary and tourism professionals to address the current challenges facing their sectors and discover effective strategies and best practices to better serve their customers. Delegates from across the gastronomy spectrum will have the chance to forge connections and share solutions, insights, and inspiration. It truly is a unique opportunity to learn from the best in the business.”
