Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has announced a significant network expansion set to begin in September and October 2025, including the reinstatement of four previously suspended routes between Marrakech and key French cities. The airline’s broader strategy also involves launching new international services, increasing frequencies on select routes, and expanding its medium-haul fleet.
Effective October 2025, RAM will resume twice-weekly services between Marrakech and the following French cities:
- Bordeaux – from October 12 (last served in October 2022)
- Lyon – from October 10 (last served in October 2022)
- Nantes – from October 11 (last served in November 2017)
- Toulouse – from October 10 (last served in October 2022)
All four routes will be operated using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. These reinstatements are part of a broader effort to bolster air connectivity between Morocco and France, which remains the country’s largest European inbound market. France accounted for 27.5% of Morocco’s international arrivals over the past year.
Additional Frequency Increases from Marrakech
- Marrakech – Marseille: From October 27, RAM will increase service from two to three weekly flights, using a mix of Boeing 737-800s and Embraer E190s.
- Marrakech – Paris Charles de Gaulle: To meet seasonal demand, frequency will increase from three to seven weekly flights between December 16, 2025, and January 18, 2026.
RAM will also inaugurate four new international routes from its Casablanca hub:
- Zurich, Switzerland: From September 17, operating twice weekly.
- Ndjamena, Chad: Launches September 17, also twice weekly. Flights will depart Casablanca late at night to support onward connections; return flights leave early morning.
- Sal Island, Cape Verde: Starts September 18, with two weekly night-departing flights designed for connection optimization.
- Munich, Germany: Commences October 20, also twice weekly.
To support its network growth, RAM is expanding and renewing its medium-haul fleet, with a focus on the Boeing 737 MAX 8.
- On July 24, RAM received a second-hand 737 MAX 8 (MSN 42828), ferried from Prague. Previously operated by Ajet, the aircraft is leased through DAE Capital.
- Another second-hand MAX 8 (MSN 42830) joined the fleet in June under the same arrangement.
- These arrivals complement three brand-new MAX 8s delivered directly from Boeing since late May.
- In total, RAM has added five MAX 8s in recent months, bringing its fleet of this type to seven. One more aircraft is expected from the airline’s original order.
RAM’s medium-haul operations also continue to rely on a fleet of 28 Boeing 737-800s, which remain essential for servicing European and regional routes.
