Air Tanzania (ATCL), the national carrier of Tanzania, is set to expand its regional network with the launch of scheduled flights to the picturesque Seychelles Islands. The new service will connect Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam (DAR) with Seychelles International Airport in Mahé (SEZ), operating three times a week using the airline’s modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

The flights will depart on *Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, beginning on *Wednesday, 1 April 2026. This schedule offers convenient options for both leisure travelers seeking a tropical escape and business passengers looking for reliable connectivity between East Africa and the Indian Ocean archipelago.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, known for its superior fuel efficiency, spacious cabin, and advanced passenger comforts, will provide an elevated onboard experience. Travelers can expect generous legroom, state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment, Wi-Fi availability on select aircraft, and the renowned warm Tanzanian hospitality that has become a hallmark of Air Tanzania’s service.

This new route strengthens ties between Tanzania and Seychelles, two nations already linked by shared tourism interests and regional cooperation. Seychelles, with its world-famous pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marine life, is a premier destination for honeymooners, divers, and nature enthusiasts. For Tanzanians, it opens up easier access to a dream vacation spot just a short flight away. Conversely, Seychellois travelers and international visitors transiting through Mahé will gain seamless connections to Tanzania’s renowned safari destinations, including the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and the beaches of Zanzibar.

The introduction of these flights is expected to boost tourism flows in both directions, support trade, and enhance people-to-people exchanges in the region. It also underscores Air Tanzania’s ongoing fleet modernization and network expansion strategy, leveraging its growing fleet of wide-body aircraft to serve high-potential leisure and VFR (visiting friends and relatives) markets.

Bookings for the new Dar es Salaam–Seychelles service are now open via Air Tanzania’s website, mobile app, and authorized travel agents. Passengers are encouraged to book early to secure the best fares and take advantage of any introductory offers.

Air Tanzania’s CEO commented on the launch: “We are excited to bring the beauty of the Seychelles within easier reach for our passengers. This route not only adds another jewel to our growing international network but also reflects our commitment to connecting East Africa with the Indian Ocean islands using world-class aircraft and service.”

With the Boeing 787’s long-range capabilities and excellent reliability, the approximately 2.5- to 3-hour flight promises to be smooth and comfortable, allowing passengers to arrive refreshed and ready to enjoy paradise.
