Discover Airlines is expanding its long-haul operations at Munich Airport, offering five weekly year-round flights to the Namibian capital starting in April 2027. Windhoek has been part of the leisure airline’s Munich schedule three times a week since spring 2025. With two additional frequencies, Discover Airlines is now responding to continued strong demand for the popular destination.

Starting summer 2027, Discover Airlines will operate a total of 12 weekly flights to Windhoek from Frankfurt and Munich. This year, sister airline Edelweiss has also added nonstop service from Zurich during the summer months, further complementing the offering. Together, the Lufthansa Group is now operating more nonstop flights to Windhoek than ever before.

Flights from Frankfurt operate daily, while Munich service will run every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday starting next summer.

Marco Götz, Chief Commercial Officer of Discover Airlines, said: “Windhoek has always been one of the most popular destinations in our network — consistently strong booking numbers confirm that year after year. We are thrilled to grow our Munich offering and give our guests even greater flexibility when planning their trip.”

Windhoek was among the first destinations in Discover Airlines’ network when the airline launched in August 2021. Since then, the airline has continuously grown its Namibia service, steadily expanding frequencies over the years.

Convenient flight times for maximum time on the ground

Flights depart Munich at 9:40 p.m. and arrive in Windhoek at 7:35 a.m. the following morning after a flight time of approximately 10 hours. Return flights depart Windhoek at 8:35 p.m., with scheduled arrival in Munich at 6:30 a.m. the next morning. All times are local. Flights will be operated by Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which will be progressively retrofitted with the new “Ocean Blue” cabin interior starting in 2027.

The additional flights are bookable as of today and are available at discover-airlines.com and lufthansa.com, as well as through all German tour operators and travel agencies.
