Seychelles and Kenya Airways are joining forces to promote twin-centre holidays in North America, using the airline’s non-stop New York-Nairobi service and onward connections to combine Kenya’s renowned safaris with Seychelles’ iconic beaches, rich biodiversity and distinctive island life.
The initiative aims to encourage travellers planning an African safari to extend their holiday with a stay in Seychelles.
David Germain, Seychelles Tourism Board Dedicated Representative for the Americas, and Anthony Brinn, Kenya Airways Commercial Manager for the USA, recently discussed joint campaigns designed to generate additional business for both the airline and the destination.
Twin-centre travel has long held strong potential for Seychelles in this market. Mr Germain has worked with tour operators across North America over the years to promote safari-and-islands packages, and the latest collaboration will build on these efforts.
The discussions also considered recent disruptions in the Middle East, which have increased interest in alternative routes and hubs, including those serving East Africa.
“An African safari in Kenya followed by a holiday in Seychelles brings together some of the best that Africa has to offer – from exceptional wildlife to iconic beaches and the remarkable natural beauty of the Seychelles Islands,” Mr Germain said.
“Kenya Airways’ non-stop connection between New York and Nairobi, together with its onward service to Seychelles, provides a strong platform for growing Seychelles’ share of this market,” he added.
STB Chief Executive Vesna Rakić has welcomed the initiative.
“We greatly value our long-standing partnership with Kenya Airways and welcome this opportunity to strengthen twin-centre travel between Kenya and Seychelles. It also supports our direction to diversify access and markets for the destination,” she said.
Kenya Airways currently operates four weekly flights between Nairobi and Seychelles, with additional frequency planned from September 2026.
The joint promotion will raise Seychelles’ visibility in North America and position the destination as an ideal extension to an East African safari.
