Africa’s largest Aviation Group Ethiopian Airlines has refuted a publication by US media group, Bloomberg on its website and social media pages about the ET 302 Crash on March 10 2019.

The publication titled ‘’long before Boeing 737 Max crash, Ethiopian Air pilot warned of dangers’’ concluded that the airline received earlier warnings about the danger following an account of a disgruntled former employee of the airline to Bloomberg.

In a short statement released on the official Twitter handle of the airline, Ethiopian refuted the allegations and was considering a legal action against such defamation. The Airline assured its customers of that safety has always been its first priority at all times.

Below is the full statement.

Ethiopian Airlines would like to refute the false allegations titled ‘’long before Boeing 737 Max crash, Ethiopian Air pilot warned of dangers’’ posted on Bloomberg website and twitter page dated May 29, 2019

All the stated allegations are baseless and factually incorrect. the pilot who has been referred to as a source of these false allegations is a disgruntled former employee of the airline who has left the airline after many administrative problems, failures to comply with the company procedures and repeated demonstration of a clear disobediences during his short employment period.

As a result of the cumulative problems he created and his inability to perform his duties per the airline’s policies and procedures, his contract of employment was terminated.

It appears the named pilot is engaging in unprofessional and unethical activities in an effort to defame the high global reputation of the airline. Ethiopian Airlines is considering to take appropriate legal action on such defamations.

Ethiopian Airlines strictly complies with all global safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Ethiopian Airlines would like to take this opportunity to reassure its customers and the general public that safety has always been and will continue to be our first priority at all times.
