Ghana will from October 26th this year, begin the implementation of its Passenger Protection Guidelines to enable airlines in ensuring safety and enhancing passenger comfort in their operations.

The Guidelines will in effect give travellers additional voice to demand that they are served well while patronizing the services of airlines that operate in the country.

This was disclosed by the Aviation Minister, Joseph Kofi Adda at the official signing of the interline agreement between Africa World and Brussels Airlines yesterday in Accra.

He said the ultimate aim is to promote the local aviation industry through effective passenger safety and comfort.

“So you get to know what the passenger rights are, what protection they are to get from the airlines and what the responsibilities of the passenger are. These are things we want to educate Ghanaians on so that we all feel safe and comfortable flying the airlines to promote aviation in the country,” Adda said.

He said the Ministry, after the introduction of the guidelines will embark on a massive sensitization campaign to create awareness among the travelling public.
