The South African Tourism is participating in the South Asia Tour and Travel Exhibition (SATTE) trade show for the first time in India.

With the Indian travel market being a key target for South Africa, the country is seeking to grow the share of the market.

The President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa last year announced the rainbow nation’s target to reach the 21 million tourists mark by 2030. The Minister of Tourism Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane has at different occasions echoed it.

The Head of Indian Hub for South African Tourism in MEISEA (Middle East, India, South East Asia) Neliswa Nkani in an interview with VoyagesAfriq said SATTE has been incredible and helped South Africa enhance its presence in the Indian Market.

“We’ve been able to literally make inroads into this market. We’ve enhanced our presence in this market. It’s going to yield the results. It’s a long-term investment. We couldn’t have chosen a better time to exhibit and we couldn’t have chosen better products to exhibit.

“Again, SATTE has been fantastic for us; we brought South Africa to India and we took India to South Africa just by participating and exhibiting here. We brought the culture, we brought the music, and we brought our heart.”
Nkani said the timing of the event was just right for South Africa to reach out to the Indian and other Asian markets.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better timing and a better place to be and I think that we will see the results in the next six months. The Industry is very excited about seeing us at SATTE,” she stated.
