The Kenya National Convention Bureau is out with its latest newsletter giving Kenya’s MICE sector an update from from the Bureau. The newsletter outlines the activation plan of the sector during and post coronavirus. Below is the welcome statement by the National Coordinator, Co Jacinta Nzioka.

Welcome from the National Coordinator, Kenya National Convention Bureau

It is with great pleasure that I present KNCB’s April newsletter to you, our valued partners and stakeholders. Kenya has been host to international meetings for decades; the first recorded international conference hosted at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre was in September 1973 for World Bank / IMF. Could this position us as Africa’s longest standing convention destination? We have consistently ranked in Africa’s top five convention destinations in the past decade according to ICCA, demonstrating our ability to deliver professional standards to the global meetings marketplace. Establishing any organization is not an easy task; as you will read in this latest issue KNCB is already well into planning and laying the foundations for a rebound from the current global crisis we find ourselves in.

In this issue we outline KNCB’s next twelve month activation plan that will lead us to innovate and grow the MICE sector sustainably into the future. KNCB represents the best interests of our MICE industry stakeholder community; we will continue to engage with you as we develop, manage and market magical Kenya to the world of MICE. The year ahead will no doubt bring its share of challenges, but if we tackle them together we’re sure to come through stronger and more united.

Stay safe.
Jacinta Nzioka, National Coordinator
