Kenya has begun vaccinating its tourism and hospitality frontline workers.

Earlier today, March 20th, the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Najib Balala launched the 1st phase of a vaccination campaign targeting frontline workers in the tourism and hospitality sector at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre.

Balala said the COVID-19 vaccination is an important tool in curbing the effects of the pandemic, which will eventually help tourism rise again.

“The vaccination drive will begin in Nairobi for the next 10 days, we will then move to the other 4 counties within the one zone area, and eventually vaccinate all the Hospitality and Tourism frontliners in all our counties, in Kenya,” he added.

The Tourism sector is one of the top sectors to comply with the set health and safety protocols by Kenya’s Ministry of Health that prevent the potential spread of the Covid-19 virus.

“Let’s keep at it, to help slow the positivity rate, which will ease the restrictions and the negative economic impacts to our tourism industry,” Balala encouraged.
