Tshwane – The City of Tshwane and the Tshwane Economic Development Agency (TEDA) will commemorate the 2021 Africa Day by hosting meetings planners, events and travel organisers in the African diplomatic corps based in Tshwane. This event will be held on the 25th of May 2021, at the Protea Fire and Ice Hotel in Menlyn. Through this engagement, the City of Tshwane seeks to use the platform provided by Africa Day to promote the City’s business tourism and leisure offerings to Diplomatic missions from African countries based in the City of Tshwane, and to continue fostering productive relationships with the international community to promote economic partnerships, including but not limited to tourism.

Covid 19 has had a devastating effect on tourism, particularly the Meetings Incentives Conferences Events (MICE) sector, and this is a sector in which the diplomatic community is very active. This event aims to bolster and encourage the safe re-ignition of MICE activities in the City, as well as leisure tourism from the source markets represented by the participants.

The event (By Invitation) will be held as follows:

Event: 2021 City of Tshwane Africa Day Commemoration
Date and Time: 25 May 2021, 9:30am for 10:00am
Venue: Protea, Fire and Ice, Menlyn

Members of the media are invited to provide coverage for the event.

The Tshwane Economic Development Agency is a municipal entity of the City of Tshwane, responsible for destination marketing, trade and investment promotion in Tshwane. Visit www.teda.org.za and www.discovertshwane.com
