Liati Wote is one of many tourist destinations in Ghana. It is located in the northern part of the Afadzato South District of the Volta Region, about 70km from Ho, the Volta regional capital, 220km from Accra and about 20km to Togo. Liati Wote provides a tourism climate characterized by breathtaking sights and sounds across its vast lush tropical forests and the Akwapim-Togo ranges.
The Afadjato-Tagbo Ecotourism centre is located at Liati Wote. The key natural attractions are Mt. Afadjato, the highest mountain in Ghana and Tagbo Falls, making Liati Wote one of the popular tourism destinations for nature and hiking lovers that draws thousands of tourists from across the globe.
Other side attractions of the enclave include a scenic view of the Akwapim-Togo ranges and three other smaller waterfalls, the Wunate, Toglo and Gobali Falls.
Located to the south is the beautiful Twin Mountains, almost as high as Afadjato offering an ideal hiking for adventurous mountaineers who wish to avoid Afadjato that is more over crowded with tourists particularly on public holidays. New hiking trails have recently been constructed to the two peaks.
The Twin Mountain behind Afadjato is the Aduadu mountain which is also of interest to professional mountaineers. Furthermore, Liati Wote’s forest is home to one of the largest butterflies count in Ghana with several species of butterflies and birds that add a touch of colour to the experience.
One will not exit the enclave without a scene and touch of different types of snakes at the Snake Village of Liati Soba. The Liati Soba Snake Village offers tourists, especially snake lovers, the opportunity to see, handle and take pictures with different species of beautiful snakes – pythons, cobras, vipers etc.
The enclave has a welcome centre comprising with affordable guest lodging facilities and eateries that offer a selection of local and continental dishes. There are trained tour guides available to talk about the ecotourism as well as the rich culture and heritage of the area.
