Roots Hotel Apartment holds dialogue on tourism promotion as part 10th anniversary

All throughout the month of August, Roots Hospitality International will commemorate the 10th anniversary of its urban accommodation facility, Roots Hotel Apartment.

Kicking of the celebrations, the hotel on August 5, assembled the media, celebrities and stakeholders from the tourism industry to discuss ways by which domestic tourism can promoted.

Panelists included, CEO of Roots Hospitality International, Hussein Fakhry, Deputy CEO, Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Ekow Sampson, Travel and Culture Photographer, Steve Ababio, Musician Reggie Rockstone and media personality, Jay Foley.

In his remarks Ekow Sampson said, the Authority pledges its continuous support for the promotion and development of tourism in Ghana.

“We also express our appreciation and commend all the various practitioners in the tourism, arts and culture sector, who have in these disruptive times of the COVID 19 pandemic worked hard and remained committed to retaining Ghana on the competitive international tourism map as the preferred tourism destination in West Africa,” he emphasised.

He added that since the outbreak of COVID-19, GTA had introduced a number of initiatives to deepen domestic tourism interest among Ghanaians. The latest of which includes the launch of the Experience Ghana, Share Ghana campaign and the visitGhana App to make tourism businesses accessible to all.

The panelists had conversations on the touristic values of music, film, photography, architecture and the need to keep the environment clean in order to increase its touristic viability.

Hussein Fakhry on maintaining the momentum of the Roots Hospitality brand said, “From the selection of the location, to the design, to the creation of the brand, to the crafting of the experience, to the sleepless nights on the details, together with my team, we have been able to make a difference and to establish loudly, what Nelson Mandela once said: “A winner is a dreamer who never gives up.”

The tenth anniversary is laced with activities that celebrate arts, music and culture. They include, Special Live Band Shows, an Art Exhibition and a Tree Planting exercise.
