DRC’s New Minister of Tourism confers with UNWTO Secretary General

Democratic Republic of Congo’s new minister of Tourism Modero Nsimba Matondo has conferred with the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Zurab Pololikashvili.

The meeting which took place on the margins of the recently held UNWTO CAF meeting offered the minister to outline his agenda and plans to help restart Tourism.

Discussions centered on UNWTO’s Agenda for Africa and its potential in the DRC to put tourism at the center of recovery. The country was elected as a second vice-Chair of the Commission for Africa pending approval at the General Assembly.

DRC is also preparing feverishly for the Tourism week of DRC ” Semaine Congolaise du Tourisme” which is held to coincide with the national celebrations of the world tourism day from 26th September to 3rd October 2021.
