Air Seychelles has today confirmed that the national flag carrier will reinstate commercial passenger services between Johannesburg and the Seychelles effective 26 September 2021. The much awaited news follows the recent announcement made by the Ministry of Health, allowing visitors from South Africa entry into the Indian Ocean’s paradise as from 13 September, 2021.

The twice weekly flights set to depart O R Tambo International Airport on Saturdays and Sundays will also include a late evening service on Saturdays to provide travellers more choice and flexibility when planning their getaway to the Seychelles. To maximize their holiday, visitors can also book their connections from Johannesburg up to Praslin without having to overnight in Mahé.

Air Seychelles flight HM060 will depart O R Tambo International Airport on Sundays at 13:50hrs to arrive in the Seychelles at 20:45hrs, whilst flight HM061 bound to South Africa will depart the archipelago at 9:25hrs to arrive in Johannesburg at 12:30hrs.

The late evening Saturday service will depart from Johannesburg at 19:05hrs to arrive in Seychelles at 02:00hrs (Sunday). Additional mid-week flights have also been added for November and beyond.

The flights to be served by the airlines’ A320neo aircraft of 168 seats are already on sale via www.airseychelles.com and through travel agents.

Irrespective of vaccination status, visitors will not undergo quarantine upon arrival. All visitors must hold a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours prior to departure with completed Health Travel Authorization at seychelles.govtas.com, including proof of accommodation at a certified tourism establishment and a valid travel insurance providing COVID-19 coverage.
