After weeks and days of countdown to the 4th Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation summit, the hour is here and speakers, experts, and seasoned tourism practitioners have arrived in Windhoek for the continent’s leading pan-African youth tourism event.

The event which is being held under the theme ‘’developing youth and innovative entrepreneurship solutions for inclusive tourism in Africa’’, seeks to empower the African youth by providing business partnerships, market access, networking & mentorship platforms, and funding solutions from the global marketplace.

The summit starts today with masterclasses and an entrepreneurship exhibition at the Safari Court Hotel.

The four-day event has assembled some of the finest brains in the tourism sector to help shape and guide the youth in the African region.

Thought-provoking conversation on tourism development will be centered around the youth of the region.

A packed day one starts with a Masterclass on Youth and SMME Digital and Social Marketing to be conducted by Hando Sinisalu – Founder, Marketing Parrot, Estonia. The session will unravel the best of digital marketing for tourism, global case studies – SMMEs’ perspectives.

Seasoned MICE voice and CEO of Portuguese-based L&I Communications Group Linda Pereira will dissect the business of (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) and narrow down on the untapped opportunity for African Youth in Tourism & Entrepreneurship Africa.

Experts from BDO will take participants through the learnings about how SMEs & Startups can maximize new opportunities to accelerate business recovery and enhance growth. Lee-Anne Bac – Director, BDO, and Jabulani Debedu – Senior Consultant, BDO, South Africa

Other sessions include Pursuing a career in MICE in confidence – Exploring the MICE industry career path through learning, professionalism and high-performance culture by Mulemwa Moongwa (CMM) of Meetings Professionals International, Zambia, Transitioning from tourism start-up to micro, small and medium enterprise in tourism-Septi Bukula – Founder, SEEZA and Managing Director, Osiba Management, South Africa

A Break-away session on the Tourism Innovation Challenge Boot Camp and Demo Session rounds up the day’s activities. Selected finalists are to present a pitch deck to the adjudication panel.
