The Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) will hold its annual TBCSA Tourism Leadership Conference which will take place from 6-8 September 2023, at the Sun City Resort in the North West province, South Africa. The gathering will be held during the tourism month which also marks the beginning of spring, under the theme “Tourism – The Engine of Growth”. The theme of the conference has been chosen to signify the fact that tourism matters for the South African economy.

This year’s gathering will be an open forum of discussion on the opportunities and challenges facing the tourism sector. It will see key industry players and policymakers under one roof, reflecting and deliberating about how to make tourism matter.

“As many of us in the sector know, tourism has the potential to push our nation to higher levels of economic opportunity. For that to be achieved, it requires the private and public sectors to work together. This conference presents a unique chance for that to happen. We look forward to meaningful discussions on how to make the most that tourism industry has to offer.” said TBCSA CEO, Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa.

Some of the topics that will be discussed at the conference include:
• Travel and Tourism Industry Global and Domestic Outlook
• Tourism Recovery and Growth
• Destination Marketing – International, Domestic, and Regional
• Sustainable Tourism – Protecting what matters
• Tourism Leadership Master class
• How tourism should support domestic businesses by buying local
• Investment and opportunities in tourism
