Zimbabwe showcases investment opportunities at Africa Hospitality Investment Forum

Zimbabwe is a remarkable resource center and its diversified economy makes it an attractive destination for investment, not forgetting to mention the good climate, nature, culture lovers and hospitable people. It is famous for its beautiful landscape and also known for its diverse wildlife and rich history.

The Ministry of Environment Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry through the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority exhibited at the Africa Hospitality Investment Forum 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya. A platform to promote Zimbabwe and market the country as an investment destination. The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority has project files that are ready for investment and AHIF was a great platform to promote investment opportunities as it is leading the leading hospitality investment forum on the African Continent.

The AHIF participants showed interest in investing in Zimbabwe and were appreciative of the Government’s efforts in effecting investments in the tourism sector.

Environment, Climate, Tourism, and Hospitality Industry Zimbabwe Hon Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndhlovu also visited the Zimbabwe stand and was taken through by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Manager for Planning and Investment Promotion Ms Charleen Tawonezvi who explained the business and opportunities to offer for investors to come and invest in the tourism sector. The Minister was very pleased by what the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority was offering at the Forum.

The Chief Executive for the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Ms Winnie Muchanyuka also had a meeting with the Chief Executive of Time Hotel Management Mr Mohammed Awadalla and Managing Director of Mashonaland Holdings Mr Gibson Mapfidza during the sidelines of the AHIF 2023 at the Zimbabwe stand. Time Hotel Management is a UAE-based hotel Management company and has shown interest in expanding its brand to Zimbabwe. Mashonaland Holdings Ltd is a Property Investment and Development Company in Zimbabwe and is set to develop a four-star hotel in Victoria Falls which will add 130 rooms stock.

Mashonaland Holdings Ltd and Time Hotel Management will be partnering in the development of the proposed hotel project in Victoria Falls. Mashonaland Holdings Ltd had already identified strategic land for the project and the ZTA is set to facilitate and secure the land for them to acquire. Construction of the project is expected to take approximately 18 months.
