WTM London 2023: Your guide to Africa’s participation

It is the time of the year where major players in the world of travel and tourism meet in London to showcase and pitch for the industry’s biggest deals 6-8 Nov, 2023.

World Travel Market, London is the leading global event for the travel industry to meet industry professionals and conduct business deals. Through its industry networks, unrivalled global reach, WTM London creates personal and business opportunities, providing customers with quality contacts, content and communities.

Tourism’s global showpiece will see over 100 countries showcasing what their unique and comparative advantage in tourism is while the latest trends and reports in the sector are unveiled in London.

Africa will definitely be parading the continent’s diverse tourism products at the show with one of the leading destinations Morocco as the Destination partner for the travel show. The Africa hall will see over 25 countries along with their private sectors as they hope to close deals in the 3-day event.

Participating countries include South Africa, Morocco,Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Senegal, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Gambia, Egypt, Seychelles, Mauritius, Kenya, Rwanda, Reunion Island, Ethiopia, and Tunisia.

WTM London affords patrons the opportunity to meet the decision makers in the tourism chain. Africa’s Safaris to its idyllic beaches, cultural offering and its authentic gastronomy are some of the offerings to be marketed in London.

Investment opportunities avail in the respective African countries and the trade show would be a good time to explore these opportunities.

Make sure not to miss the Africa AF Hall, which will be the centre of all African activities.

A session to explore African destinations’ readiness for adventure tourism” Africa, a Goldmine for Adventure Travel?” will feature Sierra Leone’s Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Nabeela Tunis, CEO of Zambia Tourism Agency Mating Matamwandi and Ariella Kageruka, Head of Tourism and Conservation, Rwanda Development Board. Taking place on Wednesday 8th November at the Discover stage and moderated by Kojo Bentum-Williams will will take you into the heart of Africa’s tourism landscape and understand its untapped potential in the era of adventure tourism.

Zambia will unveil its new marketing agency as it seeks to grow its source markets from the key European markets. Its stand will host a networking session for patrons.

Zimbabwe will be holding happy hour at its stand. The event will be an opportunity for the travel trade to interact and learn about Zimbabwe’s magnificent tourism products.

With new products and destinations from the continent expected to be promoted at WTM London, the focus is clearly on the African countries. We look forward to a great show and great discussions, especially as VoyagesAfriq will be there to promote travel and tourism to the African continent.
