President Samia Suluhu appoints Ephraim Mafuru as Tanzania Tourist Board Director General

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has sacked chief executive officers of the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) respectively, the State House announced yesterday in a press statement.

The sacked top officials are TTB Director-General Damas Mfugale and NCAA Commissioner Richard Kiiza.

A brief State House statement issued in Zanzibar yesterday said the president has appointed former Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) Executive Director, Ephraim Mafuru, the new TTB boss.

The statement did not mention the new NCAA boss of the world-renowned wonderful protected area and a UN Educational, Scientific and Educational and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) World Heritage Site located in Ngorongoro district in Arusha region, northern Tanzania.

In her appointments, President Samia named former Dodoma Regional Administrative Secretary Ally Senga Gugu, the new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Gugu takes over from Kaspar Kaspar Mmuya who now becomes the new Dodoma Regional Administrative Secretary, according to the State House press release.

The president has elevated former Water Ministry Deputy Permanent Secretary Mwajuma Waziri as the ministrys new Permanent Secretary.

She takes over from Dr Jamal Katundu whose appointment has been rescinded.
