United Airlines has increased service between Accra and Washington D.C., from three-times weekly to up to seven-times weekly flights, reflecting a 62 per cent year-over-year increase in seats. United offers more one stop connections from Accra than any other U.S. airline, is the only airline serving Accra nonstop from Washington D.C. and next year, will fly from more destinations in Africa than any other U.S. carrier.
The increase in flights from Accra to Washington D.C. comes as United expands its presence in Africa, announcing a new route from Dakar to Washington D.C. for 2025 (subject to government approval), as well as recently launching its brand-new seasonal service from Marrakesh to New York/Newark. United is the first and only airline to operate nonstop flights from Marrakesh to the U.S., which builds on existing routes from Cape Town, South Africa to New York/Newark and Washington D.C; Johannesburg, South Africa to New York/Newark; Lagos, Nigeria to Washington D.C.; as well as Accra, Ghana to Washington D.C.
“Africa continues to be an integral part of United’s global network and we are delighted to announce an increase of flights from Accra to Washington Dulles,” said Oluwatomi Bola-Sadipe, United’s Country Sales Manager Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa. “We are proud to not only offer our customers in Ghana even greater travel choice when booking their next U.S. getaway, but also provide convenient one-stop connections to over 70 destinations across the Americas, including Chicago, Columbus, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas.”
