Mauritius and Rodrigues are showcasing their tourism offerings at WTM London 2026, one of the world’s leading travel trade exhibitions, which opened on 3 November at ExCeL London.

Running over three days, the event brings together destinations, airlines, hoteliers, tour operators and travel professionals from across the globe. The two Indian Ocean destinations are exhibiting under the umbrella of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) at Stand N10-200, using the platform to engage with key travel trade partners from the United Kingdom and international markets.

Tourism Minister leads Mauritian delegation

The Mauritian delegation is led by Minister of Tourism Richard Duval, accompanied by Dinesh Burrenchobay, Chairman of the MTPA, Benoît Harter, Director of the MTPA, and Zeenat Gangee, Promotion Officer.

Speaking at the exhibition, Duval underscored the importance of maintaining a strong presence in the UK market, which has long been one of Mauritius’ key source markets.

“It is very important for us to be here every year because this is a market that has been close to our hearts for many years,” he said.

The Minister also highlighted the productive discussions already taking place with industry stakeholders. According to Duval, the conversations have provided valuable insights into the challenges facing travel trade partners and identified areas requiring greater attention from the destination.

Mauritius’ participation at WTM London reflects its commitment to strengthening commercial relationships, supporting long-standing partnerships and expanding its international tourism network.

Industry stakeholders out in force

Mauritius has assembled a broad tourism contingent at the show, including its national airline, leading hotel groups, the Association des Hôteliers et Restaurateurs de l’Île Maurice (AHRIM), and destination management companies.

For participating businesses, the event offers an opportunity to showcase products and services, reinforce existing partnerships and forge new commercial relationships within both the British and wider international travel markets.

Rodrigues showcases its unique tourism appeal

Rodrigues is also represented at WTM London by a delegation of tourism stakeholders led by Tourism Commissioner Jean-Alain Wong So.

He is joined by Sophia Swee, Promotion Officer at the Rodrigues Tourism Office, together with representatives from several accommodation establishments across the island.

The delegation is leveraging the international marketplace to increase Rodrigues’ visibility, promote its diverse tourism experiences and establish new connections with travel trade professionals, particularly from the UK market.

Focus on business growth and market visibility

Beyond destination marketing, WTM London serves as a vital platform for business development, industry networking and partnership building. Meetings with tour operators, travel agencies and travel planners remain central to the event’s objectives.

For both Mauritius and Rodrigues, the exhibition provides an opportunity to enhance destination visibility, deepen relationships with established partners and highlight the complementary nature of their tourism products. From luxury hospitality and authentic island experiences to the broader appeal of the Indian Ocean region, both destinations are positioning themselves for continued growth in international markets.
