#MKTE2018: Prez Kenyatta to open Magical Kenya Travel Expo

President of the Republic of Kenya H.E Uhuru Kenyatta is this morning expected to open the 8th Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) at the Auditorium of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

The President will be joined by the visiting United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Secretary General Ambassador Zurab Pololikshivili and host of African Union Tourism Ministers.

The Magical Kenya Travel Expo is part of the Kenya Tourism Festival which has seen mega global events taking place at the same time in Nairobi Kenya. The Festival began with the Two day AU Tourism Ministers meeting from 1-2 October and the ongoing Africa Hotel Investment Forum (2-4).

The aforementioned events forms part of the Ministry and the Kenya Tourism Board’s plan to position Kenya as a preferred MICE Destination.

Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), the host of the expo, has announced that 185 exhibitors have confirmed participation up from 140 exhibitors during last year’s edition. At the same time, the number of hosted buyers at this year’s expo has risen to 150 up from 132 recorded last year.
