TTB to embark on roadshow to China

The Tanzania Tourist Board will embark on a road show to five china cities in a move to woo Chinese travellers and investors to Tanzania.

The ten-day road show will see TTB and the private sector tourism players visit Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Beijing and Hong Kong starting from the 12th to 19th of November 2018.

According to the Managing Director of TTB Devota Mdachi, the objective of the road trip is to grow the interest of Tanzania in the Chinese travel market.

‘’ The purpose of the road show is to promote Destination Tanzania to the Chinese tourist market and attract potential Chinese investors to come and invest in Tanzania,’’ she said

She added that, it would afford the national carrier, Air Tanzania which is expecting to introduce a new route to Guangzhou in January 2019 the opportunity to engage with the trade in China.

China is the 7th largest source of market for Tanzania in the year 2017 more than 29,000 tourist visited the country. TTB has Identified China as one of the major source of market.

The TTB during the recently concluded Swahili International Tourism Exhibition (SITE) brought in a team of Chinese photojournalists and videographers from Chinese Travel Television who visited various tourist destinations.
