Fastjet Zimbabwe says that, with immediate effect, its daily return flight between Harare and Bulawayo has been increased to twice a day, to cope with increasing demand “The new schedule includes a morning and evening departure,” says the company.

The airline launched the route in July 2018, complementing Air Zimbabwe – which was the only airline flying the route.

The Hotels Association of Zimbabwe, Bulawayo Chapter, commented: “We are pleased that fastjet remains committed to servicing the Harare-Bulawayo route, and strategically maintaining the route to ensure growth and ease of access into the destination. Airlines remain our strategic growth partners in linking us with the rest of the continent. We look forward to international direct flights to complement the airlines that have been supportive in the turnaround in tourist numbers.”

Fastjet Zimbabwe also announced last week that, effective January 10, its three-times-a-week Victoria Falls-Johannesburg service would be replaced by a seasonal schedule.

The amendment is in line with the strategic growth objectives of its Zimbabwe operations, and aims to create opportunities for additional frequencies on the remaining Zimbabwe routes, such as Harare-Bulawayo.

Fastjet Zimbabwe’s route network includes Tanzanian domestic routes from its Dar es Salaam base to Kilimanjaro, Mbeya, and Mwanza, with international routes to Tanzania from Lusaka in Zambia and Harare in Zimbabwe.
