Seychelles was the proud recipient of the Favourite Beach Island Destination Award at 32nd Edition of the Conde Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards, in a ceremony organised at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai on Wednesday February 27, 2019.

The international tourism community came together to celebrate yet another achievement, with the Conde Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards to recognize their notable contributions to global travel.

Dubbed as the most-discerning, up–to-the-minute voice and the global citizen’s bible relating to luxury travel, Conde Nast Traveller awards event is attended by various travel, hospitality, media influencers, and other corporate industries.

A special delegation including Seychelles Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports & Marine Didier Dogley, and Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) Chief Executive, Mrs. Sherin Francis, were present at the event to receive the awards. STB representative in Dubai, Ahmed Fathallah, accompanied them.

In his speech during the ceremony, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports & Marine Didier Dogley, mentioned the importance of the Middle East market in growing the luxury segment of the market with much potential and considerable opportunities for the destination.

“We consider it vital that we constantly seek new ways to reach out to discerning travellers and stay top of mind because for our source markets, this strategy is as important as our relationships with the travel trade,” said Minister Dogley.

After thorough submission of ratings and comments, as well as casting of votes by over 400,000 travellers, Conde Nast Traveller awarded destinations across the globe, in several categories in which Seychelles have won Favourite Beach/Island Destination for the year.

“Our success is a tribute to our combined efforts. This is an achievement that inspires the team and me to carry out efforts as a way of thanking our valued partners across media, trade, consumer, and corporate sectors,” said Mr. Fathallah.

Condé Nast Traveller unveiled the winners of the annual Readers’ Choice Awards, representing the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry ranking the best hotels, resorts, cities, islands, airlines, airports, and cruise lines in the world.
