Congo: First Lady commissions DoubleTree by Hilton Pointe-Noire Hotel

The first lady of the Republic of the Congo, Madame Antoinette Sassou Nguesso has officially inaugurated Double Tree by Hilton in the country’s oil city of Pointe-Noire.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Arlette Soudan-Nonault paid tribute to the Head of State Dennis Sassou Nguesso for his visionary leadership and personal involvement in ensuring that the country’s economic capital of Point Noire is abreast with key investments and development.

She said ‘’ I would like to thank the President of the Republic, His Excellency Denis Sassou Nguesso for his vision, will and personal involvement in making this project a reality. This achievement, she said, is in line with the ambition of the Government in realizing the dream of creating a modern city at Pointe Noire.

‘‘Tourism, including business tourism, is a global phenomenon that leaves no country indifferent as its impact on development is well established. The hotel industry and the quality of accommodation in a country is an essential component to attracting international meetings and conferences’’.The Congo wants to improve its ability to attract in this area and must acquire establishments of such international standing.’’

With its 120 rooms, high-end service and world-renowned label, the Hilton Pointe Noire is certainly part of this category. It enriches the growing offer of VIP establishments already present in Brazzaville, Oyo and here in Pointe Noire.

As such, it is part of the National Development Plan 2018-2022 by the President of the Republic, Denis Sassou N’Guesso which aims to stimulate private sector investment and diversify the economy, the Minister said.
