Emirates state of Ras Al-Khaimah is set to host the 7th World Tourism Forum Lucerne (WTFL) in 2021.

It will be the first time the biennial event would be held outside of its home city of Lucerne, Switzerland.

The city prior to the main forum in 2021 will host the innovation and think tank session next year in May.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ras Al-Khaimah Tourism Development Authority Haitham Mattar earlier during the conference made a presentation to the packed gathering and outlined why the emirate city is the world’s newest adventure city.

In an exclusive interview with VoyagesAfriq on the margins of the recently concluded WTFL, Haitham Mattar said “We are honored today to be the guest destination of the forum and also delighted that the think tank is going to take place in Ras Al-khaimah in 2020 as well as the 7th forum which will take place in 2021. This gives us a great opportunity to continue to showcase Ras khaimah as an up and coming destination for tourists from across the world’’.

He stressed that, the Government of the emirate country is positioning it as an adventure destination.

‘’We are positioning Al-Khaimah to be the future hub of adventure tourism; we are really focusing new adventure activities and events using the natural assets and terrain of Ras Al-Khaimah, the highest mountain in the stunning beaches and the beautiful desert. What we’ve built so far is nature based adventure products, which is the zip line the longest in the world and also the vefarada, the climbing ground, hiking and biking routes, the luxury camp and bird grills survival academy which is going to make Ras khaimah home.’’
