Officially opening in August 2019, Aurari Camp sets a new standard of eco-luxury accommodation in Tanzania’s prime location for viewing the majestic annual wildebeest migration.
Situated on the magnificent plains of Northern Serengeti, Aurari Camp at Kogatende offers seasonal accommodation during the annual wildebeest migration. The eight superbly appointed tented suites are designed to enrich guests’ experience of the natural beauty of the Serengeti. Aurari Camp provides easy access to view the wildebeest herds crossing the Mara River. From the privacy of their tent, guests are treated to sweeping views of the boundless grasslands, acacia-studded savannas and undulating hills of Wogakuria.
The total indoor living area of each guest tent is a generous 50 square metres, with a spacious bedroom in the centre, fitted with a king-size bed or two extra-large single beds. Each suite has a separate lounge area and an elegant bathroom, plus an outdoor private verandah. The sofa bed in the family suite is fitted with a comfortable queen-size mattress during turndown. The interior of each beautifully appointed guest tent features hand-woven fabrics, intricate beadwork and designer furniture crafted by local artisans. Accents of gold and amber add a touch of glamour to the earthy tones adopted throughout the suite.
Solar energy enables guests to enjoy 24-hour power and hot water supply. Each guest tent is equipped with a radio, a writing desk with stationery and charging facilities for phones and cameras. Luxurious bed linen, towels, bathrobes and slippers are provided. Guests can indulge in high-quality toiletries made with the finest natural ingredients. A personal attendant is appointed to each suite to look after guests’ every whim and need during their stay.
Each morning, guests can enjoy tea or coffee in their in-suite lounge area or on their private verandah, before treating themselves to a sumptuous, plated breakfast in the main tent. A delicious, eco-friendly lunchbox will be provided for guests out on game drives. Dinner is a celebratory affair after a day’s adventure, with a 3-course continental offering alongside Swahili options, served at a time guests desire. Dietary preferences such as vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free can be catered for at Aurari Camp. Honeymooning couples will have a choice of dining in the main tent or at a romantic bush location under the stars.
Built with sustainability in mind, Aurari Camp is an owner-designed and -run safari camp with attention to details that is second to none. Bookings are now open for discerning travelers looking for a truly remarkable stay in the Serengeti.
