It’s been over a year since the Tanzania Tourist Board, the national tourism agency of the United Republic of Tanzania launched its destination marketing campaign to promote the country.

At the announcement and launch of the campaign at the 4th Swahili international Tourism Expo, the Managing Director of the country’s Tourism Board Devota Mdachi said, the idea of the campaign was to position the county in the international tourism market. ‘’We want people to know that Tanzania offers tourists a product which is unique, superior and indeed “Unforgettable.” We are trying to encourage repeat visitation and believe that tourists who visit Tanzania leave as ambassadors who will definitely spread the word about Tanzania’s unforgettable tourist attractions and experiences’’ she noted.

The campaign has so far been featured by the TTB and all tourism stakeholders of Tanzania online and at all major tourism events. Especially on online, the “Tanzania Unforgettable” catchphrase has kept some thread of conversations on the destination buzzing

Speaking to VoyagesAfriq at the recently held Swahili International Tourism Expo (SITE) Devota Mdachi said, “so far we have been overwhelmed by the acceptance and response of both the travel trade and tourism traveling to Tanzania.

It has given us the right image and made us a top of the mind destination with that remark.

We will be rolling out more campaigns around the theme to get travelers and agents who sell Tanzania as a destination to further raise the profile of the country.”

Tanzania is home to Africa’s highest mountain the Kilimanjaro, one of the world’s greatest safaris, Serengeti whilst Zanzibar is the much sought after coastal paradise.

The country also boasts of some of the largest National Parks and Game Reserves in the world.
