Ethiopian Airlines Aviation Academy begins Hospitality and Tourism Programs

Ethiopian Aviation Academy has begun courses in Hospitality and tourism. This has become necessary as airline group has ventured into the hotel subsector.

The Group this year inaugurated the prestigious 373 Ethiopian Skylight Hotel at the Bole International Airport.

The five star hotel is part of an ambitious 1000-room project and subsequent development of lodges in tourism hot spots across Ethiopia.

Speaking exclusively to VoyagesAfriq from Headquarters of Ethiopian Airlines Group in Addis Ababa, Esayas Woldermariam Hailu, Chief Commercial Officer of said.

‘’One of the success factors is long-term planning and strong strategy. The strategy composes of fleet, system and procedures, infrastructure and human resource development. We are training flight engineers and mechanics, marketing and finance executives, cargo logistics people, air hostesses and now that Ethiopian Airlines has ventured into the hotel sub sector, we have started offering courses in hospitality and tourism’’.

He believes this will not only serve the Ethiopian Airlines Group but will be a great tourism knowledge base for the country as well as Africa as a whole.

‘’The Academy is also up scaling the course offering to meet the manpower requirements of the continent and the country. ‘’ He added.

The Ethiopian Airlines Aviation Academy is an ICAO designated Regional Training Center of Excellence. It is a world class Aviation Training Center equipped with state of the art and best in class training equipment and technology offering full range of Aviation Training Programs.
