VoyagesAfriq and Accra-based Okay Fm have partnered to present a new tourism development and show segment dedicated to discussing tourism-related issues to the station’s far-reaching audience and the general public.
The first episode of the show -Tourism Drive – aired on Thursday, 15th July 2021 where conversations generally centered on how Ghana can churn out professionals to feed its hospitality industry with the President of the Tour Operators Union of Ghana, Mrs. Alisa Osei-Asamoah as a guest.

Host of Tourism Drive and industry expert, Gilbert “Abeiku Santana Aggrey, said, “We intend to make this segment a tourism development show with the overarching aim of promoting domestic tourism and helping patrons get value for their spend when they patronise tourism-related business by advocating for high service standards and engaging with relevant stakeholders.”

Content Editor of VoyagesAfriq and a Producer of the show, Samuel Obeng Appah said, the show is put together to help bring tourism to people through the power of radio. “We want to make it a show that does not just encourage people to see and experience the many attractions in Ghana, but also one that provides a platform for dispassionate discussions on happenings in the tourism, travel and its sub-sectors,” he said.

Tourism Drive airs on Okay Fm’s late afternoon drive-time show, “Ekwanso Dwoodwoo” on Thursdays at 4:30pm.
