In the heat of the Coronavirus pandemic when tourism and hospitality establishments had been dealt a heavy blow and managers and workers were at their wits end, something unusual happened; Seychelles’ L’Escale Resort Marina and Spa was born.
The facility has been in operations for a little over a year now and is already making waves as a preferred resort for luxury and high-end guests.
For General Manager Cyrille Carofano, emerging at a challenging period of global health crisis means, they needed to adapt to the situation quickly.
“The advantage for us is that we opened during the pandemic. So, all our protocols have been implemented and designed as the pandemic interaction was. So, for the team, it was directly an easy task to ensure that everything is properly adapted to and to the new trend of clientele expecting to come to the Seychelles as a safe country. 95% of our staff have been vaccinated and everybody has been trained on the protocols,” said, Carofano in an interview with VoyagesAfriq.
L’Escale Resort features 25 luxurious guest rooms, including a Presidential Villa, a Penthouse and Spa Pool villas. Providing either a lush mountain or picturesque ocean view, all rooms are fitted with king-sized beds, complimentary Wi-Fi, 4K Smart TV, minibar, Theodor Tea, Nespresso Coffee, open terrace or balcony with lounges, and spacious bathrooms with luxury organic amenities and Hermès signature products for the Penthouse and Presidential Villa.
Centrally located on mainland Mahé, in close proximity to the charming capital of Victoria and Eden Island, its architecture and interior style, is reminiscent of a resplendent luxury superyacht, with its clean lines and nautical touches.
“Therein lies the concept at the heart of L’Escale Resort Marina & Spa: a luxury boutique hotel where you disconnect from the rest of the world to fully connect with the beauty of the Seychelles as you explore, relax and unwind safely in our care. With our perfect location on Mahé, we aim to be known as the preferred luxury stopover for your accommodation, yachting, culinary and wellness experiences,’’ add, Carafano.
Beyond this, the hospitality entity is mindful of the environment and the community it operates in. In this regard, most of the staff are locally sourced.
The General Manager revealed that “we have 90% of the people from Seychelles as employees. We made it a priority to employ local forces to be a sustainable hotel.”
