Best of the Best: In 2023, together with ITB Berlin and in partnership with co:compass, the CBS International Business School is again presenting the Best Exhibitor Award (BEA) in a total of 11 categories to exhibitors at the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show – All stands will be assessed over two rounds – Honours will be presented at the awards ceremony on 9 March

A comeback for one of the most coveted awards at the World’s Largest Travel Trade Show: after a two-year break, the Best Exhibitor Award (BEA) is making its return at the in-person ITB Berlin, which will take place from 7 to 9 March 2023. Since 2000, the award has been presented by the CBS International Business School to exhibitors at ITB Berlin and has firmly established itself as an industry benchmark.

Active contributions from students

An international team of students from various branches of the CBS International Business School will evaluate the exhibitors. Over the three days of the event and during two rounds they will assess all the stands. The 15 members of the CBS jury are actively contributing to the award and in doing so have an opportunity put their theoretical training into practice.

Ahead of ITB Berlin all individual and combined stands will be divided up into a total of 11 categories. Classifying them according to geographical location and/or market segment enables easier comparisons and makes the Best Exhibitor Award an even more qualified indicator of how attractive the stands are at ITB Berlin. Together with the Cologne-based consultancy co:compass, the CBS business school team will be assessing the appeal of stand designs, customer contact and communications and sustainability efforts. The 11 categories are as follows: Germany, Europe, Asia/Australia/Oceania, America/The Caribbean, Near/Middle East, Africa, Hotel Business, Carriers, Travel Organizations, Travel Support & Media, as well as Travel Technology. In addition, there is a Best of Best category for the exhibitor with the highest points score.

The stand assessment criteria (initial assessment and final assessment) are available online and can be used as orientation for future trade show appearances.

Major highlight: presentation of the Best Exhibitor Award on 9 March

The students of CBS are also involved in planning and organising the presentation of the coveted Best Exhibitor Award on Thursday evening, when the best stands will be honoured. The event will begin at 6.30 p.m. on the Blue Stage in Hall 7.1b. The exhibitors nominated to take part will be informed by the CBS team ahead of the event.
