The Namibia Tourism Board has wrapped up its 2023 China roadshow themed “Space &Time”. Successfully staged in Beijing, Shenzhen and Shanghai, the roadshow drew more than 300 tourism industry and media representatives from across the top-tier cities.

Among the three sessions, Dr. Elia G.Kaiyamo, Namibia’s ambassador to China, Hon.Peya Mushelenga, Namibia’s Minister of Information and Communication Technology, and officials from the Namibian embassy in China were invited to attend the networking session in Beijing. From the Namibia Tourism Board, CEO Digu //Naobeb, Head of Marketing Charmaine Matheus, and China Representative Amy Zhu brought a delegation of tourism operators in Namibia to China to participate in the roadshow. They presented the latest post-COVID information on Namibia tourism to the industry and the press in China, such as visa policies and handling instructions, flight connections, destination hotels, and promotional keywords in the Chinese market (family travel and extreme outdoors).

Namibia Tourism Board, CEO Digu //Naobeb,

As an important source of international tourists, China has always been a priority market for the Namibia Tourism Board. Even during the three-year pandemic, NTB China was determined to stage a number of online activities for the public and the industry, all of which received positive feedback.

With the global tourism industry now rapidly recovering, the momentum is even stronger for China’s outbound tourism market. Through the 2023 roadshow, the Namibia Tourism Board hopes to re-ignite the passion of Chinese tourists heading to Namibia, further promote the tourism proposition of Namibia’s natural and wild luxury, drive the development of more family tour, in-depth tour and high-end customized tourism products in Namibia, and strengthen the partnership relations between the Namibian and Chinese tourism industry.

Namibia’s local tourism partners coming to China for the road show include: China Travel Agency, Gondwana Collection Namibia, Intermix Tours and Safari, Joy Travel, Lion King Travel and Way Way Namibia Travel & Tours. Namibia Tourism Board’s aviation partners – Ethiopian Airlines and Qatar Airways were also present for the events.

By holding roadshow in top-tier cities across China, the Namibia Tourism Board and its partner organizations seek to strengthen communication and cooperation, assist the industry to develop comprehensive travel packages, and promote Namibia tourism together with the press, we-media operators and travel KOLs. The board has full confidence that more and more Chinese tourists will come to Namibia to personally explore and experience the country.
