Ghana, South Africa waive visa for citizens

Citizens of Ghana and South Africa will no longer be required to obtain visa in order to travel to either country, starting November 1.

This follows an announcement by both countries to this effect today, October 13.

A communique issued by Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated ” Republic of Ghana and Republic of South Africa have entered into an Agreement on a visa waiver regime for holders of ordinary passport.

“The Agreement takes effect from 1st November, 2023. Travellers may transit through, depart from and stay in the territory of both countries for a cumulative period of up to ninety (90) without recourse to work.”
