South African Tourism has announced the dates for two major events designed to unite and elevate Africa’s tourism industry in 2025: Meetings Africa and Africa’s Travel Indaba. These annual gatherings bring together Africa’s diverse tourism stakeholders to showcase the continent’s offerings, foster collaborations, and drive growth across the sector, connecting African destinations with international markets.

Meetings Africa: February 24-26 in Johannesburg

Meetings Africa 2025 will take place from February 24 to 26 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, opening with the Business Opportunities Networking Day (BONDay) on February 24. BONDay is dedicated to building valuable partnerships within the business events sector, providing attendees with opportunities for collaboration and insights from industry leaders. Under the theme “Africa’s Success Built on Quality Connections,” Meetings Africa will feature exhibitors from across the continent, engaging workshops, and expert-led sessions aimed at fostering sustainable growth.

The 2024 edition of Meetings Africa recorded impressive participation with 382 exhibitors, 371 buyers, and over 8,150 one-on-one meetings, solidifying its role as a critical platform for business opportunities. In 2025, the event aims to continue creating an ecosystem for businesses to thrive through meaningful connections and expanded economic prospects.

Africa’s Travel Indaba: May 12-15 in Durban

Scheduled for May 12 to 15 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban, Africa’s Travel Indaba will focus on showcasing Africa’s vibrant leisure tourism sector. Kicking off with BONDay on May 12, the event will offer extensive networking opportunities alongside presentations from tourism experts and business leaders.

With nearly 9,280 delegates and over 24,000 meetings conducted in 2024, Africa’s Travel Indaba has proven itself a premier platform for African tourism businesses to connect with international buyers. Beyond driving connections, the event significantly impacts Durban and KwaZulu-Natal’s economy by creating jobs and contributing to GDP growth.

Meetings Africa and Africa’s Travel Indaba offer invaluable platforms for a range of tourism stakeholders, from small enterprises to large companies, to connect and collaborate. Both events will continue to emphasize Africa’s unique travel experiences, attract international business, and foster industry-wide growth—bolstering Africa’s status as a must-visit destination on the global tourism map.
